Porutham (Thirumana Porutham) is the South-Indian method of checking marriage compatibility from the birth Nakshatra and Rasi of the bride and groom. Ten agreements are traditionally assessed:
- Dina — health and well-being of the couple
- Gana — temperament and nature
- Mahendra — progeny and prosperity
- Stree Deergha — longevity and welfare of the bride
